Another Raumplan is a model, exhibited at the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial in the Horizontal City room. The prompt of this project is to respond to an image of an interior.

We chose Adolf Loos’ Muller House. As we re-read Beatriz Colomina’s reading of Loos’ work, and reconstructed the spectator-spectacle relationship between multiple players within. There is a clear division between two parts of the house: one that views, and one that performs. In our model, we installed one-way mirrors to reverse the power-dynamic.

Principle of Cladding is an essay written by Loos in 1898. Loos argued that the act of covering oneself with animal hide is the first architectural detail. We casted lips for all of the viewports. We went through a medical supply store to find a rubber that most resembled the human touch.
