In plan, furniture often is drawn as the simple geometries that they are: squares, rectangles, circles, etc. However, the qualities of the elevation is rarely known, since the plan does not provide further massing details to the furniture.

The graphics of this rug anticipates objects that the owner does not have. Tables, chairs, and other furniture are all missing on this rug, and all that remain are the shadows left behind. The shadows mismatch the plan geometry, as they reveal more details to each missing item.
