Primitives

Story, 2011

Primitives is a short story in the format of a graphic novel. It was originally published in Log 22, and later became a chapter within Citizens of No Place.

This is a story about a hunter slaying a deer, but only skins the hide. The hunter sews the hide into a cloak, covering the details of his body. As he dances under the cloak, the abstracted shape of his body language becomes a new skyline.

This story is the accompaniment of the White Elephant installation. The original pages are in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
